He also serves as a board member of the Responsible Data Foundation, a member of the Brookings Institution’s Transatlantic Working Group on Misinformation, and an advisor to the Trust & Safety Professional Association (where he hosts their podcast, “Flagged for Review”).

 

Alex’s work on technology systems is guided by strong values of trust and privacy. After four years as head of legal and head of trust and safety at Medium, he has begun collecting interviews for an oral history of online trust and safety.
